Introducing Our Team
Holistic, Non 12-Step Addiction Treatment Center in Hawaii
When speaking of our wonderful and talented CSAC intern, Emma, the term ‘Renaissance woman’ tends to come to mind. Emma is integral to many different aspects of our client’s journey – from admissions to treatment planning to outings. With a calming and compassionate presence, Emma is a great leader in any situation that presents itself.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Saint Louis University (as well as experience studying psychology in Leeds, United Kingdom) Emma has a strong grasp on what the human brain is capable of and why it functions the way it does. After extensive volunteer work with psychiatric and therapeutic centers, as well as experience with loved ones struggling with addiction, Emma wanted to help others work through this difficult time in their lives. She is currently in the process of becoming a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor in the state of Hawaii.
Hearing other’s stories and hardships are some of the driving forces behind Emma’s passion. When asked what she most wants for clients, Emma responded that she wants them to “free themselves of the shame associated with their addictions, learn to regain their confidence, and move on from past trauma and crippling beliefs to a place of self-love – so that they can live the life they deserve.”
She is also inspired by nature and art, which mesh effortlessly into one of her other passions in life: painting. She particularly enjoys the breathtaking beauty and sense of Aloha Aina the Big Island has (which is quite different than New York City, where she last called home!) When not working with our clients, Emma can be found hiking, exploring the island, or traveling.
